Driver arrested on DWI charge in Jamestown

JAMESTOWN, NY — A driver crashed into a snowbank while police were conducting a traffic stop Sunday evening, leading to his arrest on suspicion of drunken driving.

Officers observed the crash at approximately 7:48 p.m. while working an unrelated traffic stop, according to the Jamestown Police Department.

The driver was identified as Joseph E. Snow, 61, of Jamestown.

An investigation determined Snow was operating the vehicle under the influence of alcohol, police said.

Snow was taken into custody and transported to the Jamestown City Jail.

He is charged with driving while intoxicated and received additional uniform traffic tickets.

Snow is being held at the Jamestown City Jail pending arraignment.
