Man arrested on drug, contempt charges in Jamestown

JAMESTOWN, NY — A man was arrested on drug and criminal contempt charges Thursday afternoon at an apartment complex on the north side of the city.

Vincent A. Jones was taken into custody at approximately 3:05 p.m. during a fire investigation at the complex.

Police determined Jones was at the apartment with a victim who resides there.

A valid Stay Away Order of Protection was in effect requiring Jones to stay away from the victim.

Jones was arrested without incident and transported to the Jamestown City Jail.

Police said Jones was found to be in possession of a quantity of a methamphetamine and fentanyl mixture.

Jones is charged with criminal contempt in the second degree and criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree.

He is being held pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court.
