OXFORD, PA — Police arrested a man wanted on a warrant stemming from a July domestic disturbance.
Alejandro Cortes-Ortega, 33, of Oxford, was arrested Jan. 30 in the 200 block of South Fourth Street by the Oxford Police Department.
Cortes-Ortega was charged with simple assault, disorderly conduct-engage in fighting and harassment by physical contact.
On July 14 at 10:22 p.m., Oxford Police were dispatched to the 500 block of Lincoln Street for a domestic disturbance.
Upon arrival, officers made contact with a female victim who was observed with multiple injuries to her face.
The victim stated that Cortes-Ortega had struck her multiple times in the face, causing the injuries.
Cortes-Ortega was no longer in the residence and could not be located.
Due to the extent of the injuries, the victim was transported by EMS.
A criminal arrest warrant was issued by the Oxford District Court on July 15.
Several attempts to locate Cortes-Ortega were unsuccessful until his arrest Jan. 30.
Cortes-Ortega was transported to the Oxford Police Department for processing before being transported to the Chester County Prison.
He was arraigned and is being held on $7,500 bail with a 10 percent option.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Feb. 10 at the Oxford District Court.
