JAMESTOWN, NY — A 19-year-old woman was arrested on drunken driving charges after police found her behind the wheel with a blood alcohol content approximately twice the legal limit.
Officers from the Jamestown Police Department’s 1st Platoon responded to a report of a female passed out behind the wheel in the area of Harrison Street and South Main Street at approximately 8:12 a.m. on Jan. 31, 2026.
While en route, officers observed a vehicle matching the reported description following another vehicle too closely.
The vehicle was subsequently reported traveling at a high rate of speed on Willard Street, where officers were able to make contact.
The operator was identified as Emma E. Dodge, 19, of Olean.
Officers observed an open container of alcoholic beverages inside the vehicle.
Dodge was charged with Following Too Closely, Driving While Intoxicated (1st Offense), Operating a Motor Vehicle with .08 of 1% or More Alcohol in Blood (1st Offense), and Open Container.
She is currently being held pending arraignment.
