Man arrested on child sexual abuse material charges in Plattsburgh

PLATTSBURGH, NY — The New York State Police Troop B Computer Crime Unit, in coordination with Homeland Security Investigations, arrested Joshua J. Rose, 41, of Plattsburgh on charges related to possession and promotion of child sexual abuse material.

Rose faces one count each of the following charges: promoting an obscene sexual performance by a child as a sexually motivated offense (D felony), possessing an obscene sexual performance by a child (E felony), promoting a sexual performance by a child as a sexually motivated offense (D felony), possessing a sexual performance by a child (E felony), obscenity in the third degree (A misdemeanor), and criminal nuisance in the second degree (B misdemeanor).

He was arraigned in the Town of Plattsburgh Court and remanded to Clinton County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash bail, $20,000 bond, or $50,000 partially secured bond.

The investigation is ongoing and is being conducted jointly by the New York State Police and Homeland Security Investigations.
