NORTH HAVEN, CT — A woman was arrested on a larceny charge following an investigation into an alleged extortion scheme.
North Haven patrol officers responded to a complaint on Jan. 18, 2026, in which a victim reported being extorted.
The victim transferred more than $22,000 to the suspect as a result of the alleged ongoing extortion.
An investigation determined that the individual responsible was Theresa Cacioli, 50, of New London.
An arrest warrant was prepared and submitted, and was later approved by the court.
Cacioli was arrested on Jan. 26, 2026, and charged with larceny in the first degree.
