Man arrested on criminal contempt charge in Jamestown

JAMESTOWN, NY — Officers from the Jamestown Police Department’s 2nd Platoon responded to a southside address for a report of a past harassment incident at approximately 8 p.m. on Jan. 23, 2026.

Officers entered the residence and located Daniel Galarza in the victim’s living room.

Officers were aware of an active full stay-away Order of Protection requiring Galarza to remain away from the victim.

Galarza was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Jamestown City Jail.

He is charged with Criminal Contempt in the 2nd Degree and is being held pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court.
