BROADALBIN, NY — Firefighters battled a fully-involved garage fire on Kunz Road on Sunday afternoon.
The Broadalbin-Kennyetto Fire Company was dispatched to the structure fire at 2:28 p.m.
An incident commander reported a large volume of smoke while en route and requested additional resources.
The Perth Volunteer Fire Company responded with mutual aid, including a tanker and their Mobile Cascade System to refill firefighters’ air cylinders on scene.
Additional tankers and personnel were summoned from the Mayfield Fire Department and Galway Volunteer Fire Company.
The Berkshire Volunteer Fire Department was placed on standby before responding with an engine and personnel.
Upon arrival, an incident commander confirmed the fire involved an attached garage.
The Edinburg Fire Department and Providence Volunteer Fire Department also sent tankers to the scene.
The Northville Fire Department and Hagaman Volunteer Fire Department provided mutual aid.
Police, Lake Valley EMS and the Fulton County Emergency Management Office also responded.
National Grid was notified.
Weather and fireground conditions made the incident difficult, according to fire officials.
The BKFC Fire Auxiliary and BKFC Fire Police assisted at the scene.
Pierre LaPort donated food and Pizza Supreme provided meals for responders.
No injuries were reported.
