NORTH HAVEN, CT — Police have arrested a man in connection with a fatal motor vehicle crash that occurred in September.
Donny Oliveira, 45, of New Haven, was arrested on Jan. 16 and charged with misconduct with a motor vehicle, evading responsibility, illegal operation of a motor vehicle under the influence of drugs/alcohol, illegal operation of a motor vehicle without minimum insurance, improper use of marker plate, operation of an unregistered motor vehicle and operating a motor vehicle with unsafe tires.
The arrest followed a months-long investigation into the September crash.
Police said serious-crash investigations require a thorough process, including evidence review, witness interviews, analysis of vehicle and scene information and consultation with specialists when needed.
