Man arrested on domestic charge in Jamestown

JAMESTOWN, NY — A Jamestown man was arrested Jan. 15, 2026, after allegedly pushing a woman in violation of an order of protection.

Officers from the Jamestown Police Department’s 1st Platoon responded to an address on the city’s east side at about 8:45 a.m. for a report of a verbal dispute.

Upon arrival, officers spoke with a female victim.

After further investigation, police determined that the suspect had fled the scene before officers arrived.

Xovier Nieves, 41, of Jamestown, was located a short distance from the residence and taken into custody.

Police said Nieves pushed the victim, which violated a refrain from order of protection.

He was transported to the Jamestown City Jail, where he was charged with first-degree criminal contempt.

Nieves is being held pending arraignment.
