JAMESTOWN, NY — A pedestrian died after being struck by a vehicle on Falconer Street near Bowen Street.
Officers responded to the crash at about 6:08 p.m. Friday and found Kendel R. Bell lying in the roadway, unresponsive.
Officers attempted lifesaving measures until Jamestown firefighters and Alstar EMS arrived on scene.
Bell was transported to UPMC Chautauqua at WCA and then to UPMC Hamot in Erie.
Bell succumbed to his injuries and died at about 8:15 a.m. Saturday.
The operator of the vehicle who struck Bell called 911 and is cooperating with the investigation.
Investigators are searching the area for video footage and are asking community members who reside in the area of Lillian Dickson Park to contact the Jamestown Police Department at (716) 483-7536 if they have footage of the incident.
