NORTH HAVEN, CT — A woman was arrested after allegedly fleeing from police following a shoplifting incident at a business on Universal Drive.
North Haven patrol officers responded to the area on Jan. 3, 2026, after receiving a report of a shoplifting in progress.
Upon arrival, officers observed a woman running through the parking lot in an apparent attempt to flee the scene.
Officers attempted to stop and detain the individual, but she continued to evade police on foot.
After a brief foot pursuit, the woman was apprehended and found to be in possession of various stolen merchandise with an approximate total value of $980.
The woman was identified as Michaela Travers, 30, of Milford.
During a search incident to arrest, officers discovered that Travers was in possession of narcotics and drug paraphernalia.
Travers was transported to the North Haven Police Department, where she was processed and charged with larceny, interfering with an officer/resisting arrest, possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.
