Three juveniles arrested in Greece on stolen property charges

GREECE, NY — Three juveniles from Rochester were arrested after being found sleeping in a stolen vehicle with credit cards taken from two homes.

Monroe County Sheriff’s deputies were called to a Pittsford home at 6:40 a.m. on Dec. 21 for the report of a stolen 2023 Toyota Highlander.

The owners stated they accidentally left the vehicle unlocked with the key fob inside, along with a wallet containing a credit card.

At 7:29 a.m., deputies were called to a second Pittsford home for the report of a wallet and four credit cards stolen from an unlocked vehicle.

Two unauthorized charges had already been made to the cards.

The homeowner provided video footage showing four suspects entering the unlocked vehicle at 12:38 a.m. on Dec. 21.

The homes were on adjacent streets, and both incidents appeared to be related.

Deputies contacted the vehicle manufacturer, who agreed to share the location of the stolen vehicle.

At 10:15 a.m., the manufacturer informed deputies the stolen Toyota was parked in the 4100 block of W. Ridge Road in Greece.

With assistance from the Greece Police Department, the stolen Toyota was located in a business lot with three juveniles sleeping inside.

Police also located the stolen credit cards from both Pittsford homes.

A 16-year-old male, of Rochester, was identified as the driver and charged with criminal possession of stolen property in the third degree and two counts of criminal possession of stolen property in the fourth degree.

The 16-year-old has prior arrests for burglary, criminal mischief, criminal possession of a weapon and criminal possession of stolen property.

A 17-year-old male, of Rochester, was charged with criminal possession of stolen property in the third degree and criminal possession of stolen property in the fourth degree.

The 17-year-old has prior arrests for robbery, reckless endangerment, grand larceny and criminal possession of stolen property and was released from custody in October and is currently on parole with an ankle monitor.

A 17-year-old female, of Rochester, was charged with criminal possession of stolen property in the third degree.

All three juveniles were arraigned at Monroe County CAP court and released to the custody of a parent.

They are to return to Monroe County Family Court – Youth Part at a later date.
