OXFORD, CT — Police are seeking the public’s help in locating the driver of a black BMW sedan who fled the scene of a single-vehicle crash Tuesday afternoon.
The Oxford Police Department and Oxford Fire Department responded to 60 Greenbriar Road at approximately 1:20 p.m. for a motor vehicle accident involving a telephone pole.
Officers arrived to find the pole and wires down, but the driver had already left the scene.
The suspect vehicle is described as a black BMW 650 sedan with a Virginia license plate.
Police said the suspect is also believed to be involved in mail theft incidents in town.
Authorities are asking residents in the area to check security cameras or CCTV footage from between 1:20 p.m. and 1:50 p.m.
