KINGSTON, NY — Police investigated reports of gunfire in two separate areas of the city late Saturday and early Sunday morning but found no evidence of shots being fired.
The Kingston Police Department responded to reports of shots fired in the area of Liberty and Franklin Streets on the late evening of Saturday and a short while later in the area of Prospect Street between Liberty and St. James Streets.
Several individuals reported hearing shots, according to police.
Following an extensive search of the area, Kingston Police were unable to locate any evidence of shots being fired.
Kingston Police were assisted by Town of Ulster Police, the Ulster County Sheriff’s Office and the New York State Police.
The investigation remains open and active.
