OLD SAYBROOK, CT — Police are investigating several vehicle burglaries that occurred overnight Sunday in multiple neighborhoods.
The incidents took place in the Saybrook Station, Old Boston Post Road, Town Beach Road, Seacrest Road and Red Bird Trail areas, according to Chief William C. Onofrio.
All of the vehicles targeted were unlocked at the time of the thefts.
Preliminary information indicates the suspects appear to be juveniles or young adults operating a stolen motor vehicle from out of town.
Police are urging residents to lock their vehicles and remove valuables when parked, especially overnight.
Residents are also asked to keep exterior and road-facing lights illuminated during nighttime hours.
Anyone with home video surveillance footage showing suspicious activity in the affected areas is asked to share it with police.
Suspicious persons or vehicles should be reported to the Old Saybrook Police Department at 860-395-3142, or 911 in an emergency.
