Vehicle collides with school bus in East Aurora

EAST AURORA, NY — Multiple 911 calls reported a collision between a passenger vehicle and a school bus at the intersection of South Street and Geneva Road on Tuesday at 8:35 a.m.

East Aurora Police Department, East Aurora Fire Department and AMR Ambulance Co. units responded to the scene.

Police determined a four-door sedan occupied only by the driver was traveling east on South Street and struck the school bus as it was making a left turn from Geneva Road west onto South Street.

The school bus, operated by First Student Inc., was occupied by the driver and 10 student passengers.

All student passengers were evaluated by East Aurora Fire Department EMS and AMR Ambulance personnel and turned over to a representative of the East Aurora School District.

No injuries were reported.

The operator of the sedan was cited with failure to stop at a stop sign and failure to yield the right of way at an intersection.

South Street was closed during the investigation and reopened at 9:28 a.m.
