Three arrested on burglary charges in Mt. Morris

MT. MORRIS, NY — Three Livingston County residents were arrested on burglary and larceny charges following an investigation by the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office.

Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to a residence in the town of Mt. Morris at approximately 12:16 p.m. on Oct. 25 for the report of a burglary.

An investigation determined that Cody Vandorn, 22, of Dalton, and Cooper Vandorn, 19, of Portage, entered a detached barn on the property and stole property while inside.

Chan Vandorn, 47, of Portage, was allegedly involved with the incident before and after the property was stolen.

Cody Vandorn and Cooper Vandorn were arrested and charged with felony third-degree burglary, felony third-degree grand larceny and misdemeanor fifth-degree conspiracy.

Chan Vandorn was arrested and charged with felony third-degree grand larceny, misdemeanor third-degree forgery and fifth-degree conspiracy.

All three were transported to the Livingston County Jail for processing and pre-arraignment detention.

The three defendants were arraigned at the Livingston County Centralized Arraignment Part at the Livingston County Jail before Town of Caledonia Justice Mackay.

The judge released all three on their own recognizance as the offenses do not qualify for bail under the New York State Bail Reform Act.
