COLEBROOK, NH — Two people were arrested on drug charges following a traffic stop on Route 3 on Oct. 9.

Joel Goyette, 37, of Littleton, New Hampshire, and Tanya Rancloes, 45, of Clarksville, New Hampshire, face multiple charges after a Colebrook police officer initiated a motor vehicle stop at 9:15 p.m. for an equipment violation.

Upon making contact with the driver, the officer observed a blue glass pipe protruding from Goyette’s right lower pocket and a “tooter” with residue in the center console area, according to police.

After a second unit arrived, both Goyette and Rancloes were removed from the vehicle.

Police said Rancloes attempted to conceal evidence by throwing it onto the grass beside the vehicle, which was observed by the officer.

The vehicle was seized and impounded pending issuance of a search warrant.

Once the warrant was obtained, police said the search led to the discovery of what is believed to be fentanyl, crack cocaine and Suboxone, as well as a large amount of drug paraphernalia.

Goyette was charged with tail lamp and reflectors violation, two counts of possession of controlled drug and transporting drugs in a motor vehicle.

Rancloes was charged with falsification of physical evidence, two counts of possession of controlled drug subsequent and contempt of court.

Goyette was released on bail pending arraignment.

Rancloes was held in preventive detention due to a previous drug conviction and being out on bail for another drug charge at the time of her arrest.

After a probable cause and bail hearing on Oct. 20, Judge Boyle found probable cause existed and ordered Rancloes to be held without bail pending trial.
