Three arrested after stolen vehicle pursuit in Greece

GREECE, NY — Three suspects were arrested following a pursuit of a stolen vehicle that ended with multiple foot chases on Oct. 20.

Greece Police officers were alerted by the department’s License Plate Reader system to a stolen white 2021 Kia Suburban reported out of the City of Rochester at approximately 4:24 p.m.

Officers located the vehicle in the area of Latta Road and Island Cottage Road.

The driver failed to comply when officers attempted to stop the vehicle and a pursuit ensued, lasting approximately 13 minutes and continuing into the City of Rochester.

The pursuit ended when the suspects abandoned the stolen vehicle near 406 Frost Avenue and fled on foot.

Following multiple foot chases and a coordinated search by Greece officers—with assistance from the Rochester Police Department and the New York State Police—all three suspects were apprehended.

During one arrest, a juvenile resisted, resulting in a brief use of force before being taken into custody.

A Greece officer sustained an injury during the struggle and was treated at a local hospital.

Detectives from the Criminal Investigation Division executed a search warrant at a residence; no additional evidence was recovered.

Javionte A. Webb, 18, of Rochester, was charged with unlawful fleeing a police officer, reckless driving, aggravated unlicensed operation, obstructing governmental administration, criminal possession of stolen property in the third degree and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle in the third degree.

A 15-year-old male from Rochester was charged with criminal possession of stolen property in the third degree and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle in the third degree.

A second 15-year-old male from Rochester was charged with criminal possession of stolen property in the third degree, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle in the third degree, obstructing governmental administration, resisting arrest and assault in the second degree.

All three were transported to Greece Police Headquarters for processing.
