Greece man arrested after firing rifle during domestic dispute

GREECE — Greece Police officers responded to a home on White Swan Drive at approximately 3:56 a.m. Oct. 12 for a report of a domestic menacing incident involving a firearm.

Upon arrival, officers learned that the suspect, identified as Frank Mastrodonato, 41, had discharged a rifle inside the shared apartment during a domestic dispute with family members.

Other occupants of the home safely exited the residence prior to officers’ arrival.

Officers immediately established a perimeter and conducted a coordinated search of the area.

A defaced .22 caliber rifle was located, consistent with the firearm used in the incident.

As officers continued their investigation, Mastrodonato returned to the scene and attempted to flee on foot but was quickly apprehended by Greece officers after a brief foot pursuit.

Mastrodonato was charged with criminal possession of a weapon in the 3rd degree, menacing in the 2nd degree and reckless endangerment in the 2nd degree.

He was processed at Greece Police Headquarters and transported to the county jail for arraignment in CAP Court.
