WILTON — The Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office arrested a 46-year-old Gansevoort man on felony charges following a traffic stop for switched plates Monday afternoon.
Eric H. Irving was stopped at 12:58 p.m. on Jones Road in Wilton, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
Irving faces charges of DWI, aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle in the first degree, both class E felonies, criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree, a class A misdemeanor, and improper plates, an infraction.
Authorities say Irving was operating a motor vehicle while impaired by drugs and while his driver’s license was revoked for a previous impaired driving conviction.
The DWI charge was elevated to a felony due to the prior impaired driving conviction that occurred within the preceding 10 years.
Irving was also charged with knowingly and unlawfully possessing methamphetamine and operating a motor vehicle with improper plates.
He was released on appearance tickets and is scheduled to appear in Wilton Town Court.
