Catskill man charged with rape, burglary at Rainbow Cabins

CATSKILL — Troopers from the New York State Police Coxsackie responded to Rainbow Cabins on State Route 32 for a report of a possible sexual assault Friday at approximately 12:45 a.m.

An investigation revealed that Danny E. Fuller, 59, of Catskill, unlawfully entered the cabin of a 48-year-old female victim and engaged in unwanted sexual contact while she was asleep in bed.

A 3-year-old child under the victim’s care was also present at the time of the incident.

After the victim awoke, a brief physical altercation occurred, and Fuller fled the scene to his nearby residence.

Fuller was located a short time later and taken into custody without incident.

He was processed at State Police Catskill and charged with rape in the 3rd degree, a class E felony; burglary in the 2nd degree, illegal entry, a class C felony; and endangering the welfare of a child, a class A misdemeanor.

Fuller was arraigned in Cairo Town Court and remanded to the Greene County Jail without bail, pending a future court appearance.

A full stay-away order of protection was issued on behalf of the victim.

The investigation remains ongoing.
