Ogden driver arrested for DWI after crashing over guard rail

OGDEN — A driver was arrested for driving while intoxicated after crashing a Jeep over a guard rail and onto a parked vehicle Thursday night.

Officers responded to a motor vehicle accident on Buffalo Road at approximately 8:30 p.m.

Upon arrival, officers detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage on the driver’s breath.

A witness reported the Jeep was traveling westbound when it passed two vehicles, entered the wrong lane, then continued off the road and over the guard rail before landing on a parked vehicle.

The parked vehicle was unoccupied at the time of the crash.

The driver failed field sobriety tests and was taken into custody without incident.

The driver’s blood alcohol content measured 0.21 percent, nearly three times the legal limit of 0.08 percent.

No injuries were reported in the accident.
