2 arrested in Greece firearms possession case

GREECE — Two Rochester men were arrested Tuesday night after police recovered a stolen handgun during a traffic stop on Weiland Woods Lane.

Greece Police officers responded to the area at approximately 10:48 p.m. for a report of menacing involving a firearm.

The caller reported that during an argument, a passenger in a vehicle displayed a handgun before fleeing the scene.

Just before 11:00 p.m., officers located the suspect vehicle and conducted a stop.

Both occupants were detained without incident.

A search of the car led to the recovery of a loaded Sig Sauer P365 9mm handgun concealed in a black bag under the front passenger seat.

The firearm was confirmed stolen out of Rochester.

Jose A. Medina, 32, of Rochester, was charged with criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree.

Ian Johnson, 22, of Rochester, was charged with criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree.

Both suspects were transported to the Monroe County Jail for arraignment in CAP Court.
