MIDDLETOWN — Middletown Police Officers and EMS responded to the rear of 100 Main Street for a report of a man found lying on the ground with injuries to his head and extremities at approximately 3:31 a.m. Tuesday.
The male was transported to Middlesex Hospital where he was later pronounced deceased.
The preliminary investigation suggests the male was struck by a vehicle.
The operator of the vehicle is cooperating with the investigation.
The names of the victim and vehicle operator are not being released at this time.
This is an active investigation but an isolated incident with no threat to public safety.
