COLEBROOK — A Colebrook police officer arrested John Cotnoir on a possession of controlled drug charge following a response to Cedar Street at 12:44 p.m. on Aug. 28.
Police first responded to Park Street for a report of a female dancing in the roadway.
Upon arrival, the officer saw multiple females walk toward a nearby residence.
The officer followed and discovered Cotnoir slumped over the wheel inside a parked vehicle in a driveway.
After waking Cotnoir, the officer asked him to exit the vehicle and noticed two glass pipes in the spot where Cotnoir had been sitting.
One pipe had a burnt residue consistent with narcotics use, police said.
Cotnoir was taken into custody.
A search incident to his arrest revealed a plastic baggie containing a substance consistent with fentanyl, presumptively weighing more than 20 grams.
The vehicle was seized and a search warrant obtained.
A subsequent search of the vehicle led to the discovery of additional drugs and drug paraphernalia.
Police said more charges and arrests are expected.
Cotnoir was held on preventative detention at Coos County Jail.
