SAUGERTIES — The Saugerties Police Department arrested James P. Mowat, age 32, of Saugerties, following a complaint on Aug. 20 at about 2:30 a.m.
Mowat was charged with the felony of attempted assault in the 2nd degree on a police officer.
He also faces misdemeanor charges of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the 7th degree, obstructing governmental administration in the 2nd degree, and resisting arrest.
Mowat was issued an appearance ticket to appear in the Town of Saugerties Justice Court at a later date.
