GREECE — The Greece Police Department arrested a Rochester woman in connection with identity theft charges stemming from a wallet stolen from an assisted care facility.
Krista Stewart, 60, of Rochester, was arrested Aug. 18 and charged with Identity Theft in the 2nd Degree and Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the 4th Degree.
The case began Sept. 30, 2024, when police investigated a larceny involving a wallet taken from a victim’s assisted care room at a facility on Long Pond Boulevard while the victim was hospitalized.
The victim’s credit cards were later used at a store on Lyell Avenue in the City of Rochester.
Detective Wild identified Stewart as the suspect through the course of the investigation.
Security photos from the store and a cooperative witness helped confirm Stewart’s identity while she was using the stolen cards at an ATM.
Stewart was booked and released on an Appearance Ticket returnable to Greece Town Court.
