Hyde Park man charged with murder in shooting that killed woman, injured man

BOSTON — A 41-year-old Hyde Park man has been charged with murder after a shooting that killed one person and injured another Wednesday morning.

Officers assigned to District E-18 responded to a radio call for shots fired on Faraday Street in Hyde Park at approximately 10:03 a.m. Aug. 13.

Upon arrival, officers found two adult victims, a woman and a man, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

Both victims were transported to local hospitals with life-threatening injuries.

The female victim was later pronounced dead.

Jonathan Hernandez, 41, of Hyde Park, was arrested by first responding officers at the scene.

Homicide detectives subsequently charged Hernandez with murder, assault and battery by means of a dangerous weapon, and assault with intent to murder.

He will be arraigned in West Roxbury District Court.

The Boston Police Department’s Homicide Unit continues to investigate the facts and circumstances surrounding the homicide.
