Catskill man arrested on drug charges after traffic stop

CATSKILL — A 39-year-old Coxsackie man was arrested on multiple drug charges following a traffic stop on West Main Street.

State Police troopers observed Michael Hollywood operating a 2016 Subaru in violation of New York State Vehicle and Traffic Law at approximately 10:22 p.m. Aug. 8.

During the investigation, troopers conducted a search of Hollywood and found illegal narcotics on his person.

A search of the vehicle yielded approximately 3.19 grams of crack cocaine, multiple glass pipes with cocaine residue, approximately 14.57 grams of Ecstasy, a scale, a metal bowl with approximately 0.3 grams of crack cocaine, approximately 7.04 grams of cocaine and approximately 2.45 grams of Alprazolam.

Hollywood was arrested and transported to State Police Catskill for processing without incident.

He was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance 3rd degree, a class B felony; criminal possession of a narcotic drug 4th degree, a class C felony; criminal possession of a controlled substance 5th degree, a class D felony; criminal possession of a controlled substance 7th degree, a class A misdemeanor; manufacture of drug-related paraphernalia, a class A misdemeanor; criminal use of drug paraphernalia 2nd degree, a class A misdemeanor; and multiple uniform traffic tickets.

Hollywood was arraigned at the Town of Catskill Court and remanded to Greene County Jail with no bail.

He is due back in court Aug. 28 at 4 p.m.
