BROCTON — A narcotics investigation led to the seizure of an assault rifle, a handgun and drugs in Brocton and Dunkirk on Aug. 6.
Multiple search warrants were executed by narcotics investigators from the Dunkirk Police Department, Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office and Jamestown Police Department.
A vehicle operated by Jean C. Rodriguez-Diaz was stopped on Route 20, and a search warrant was executed by the Sheriff’s Office.
Dunkirk Police SRT assisted with a search at 267 Lake Shore Dr. East in Dunkirk, followed by a search at 32 Fay St. Upper Apt. in Brocton.
Investigators seized cocaine, scales, packaging materials, an assault rifle with two high-capacity magazines, ammunition and a 9mm Glock handgun with five high-capacity magazines.
Rodriguez-Diaz was charged with criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree, seven counts of criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree, criminal possession of a firearm, criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree and criminally using drug paraphernalia in the second degree.
He was transported to the Chautauqua County Jail for the Centralized Arraignment Program.
