GREEN’S GRANT — A motorcycle rider suffered serious injuries in a crash with a car in Green’s Grant.
At 3:04 p.m. on Wednesday, July 16, the New Hampshire State Police Troop F barracks received a report of a crash between a motorcycle and an SUV on Route 16 in the unincorporated place of Green’s Grant.
The preliminary investigation determined that the rider of a 2022 Harley-Davidson motorcycle was traveling southbound on Route 16 when, for reasons which remain under investigation, the motorcycle collided with a 2025 Lexus, whose driver was attempting to turn into the Great Gulf Wilderness parking area from the northbound lane.
The single male rider was thrown from the motorcycle and suffered significant injuries.
He was transported to the Androscoggin Valley Hospital in Berlin and later flown to Maine Medical Center by a medical helicopter.
The driver of the Lexus was not injured in the crash.
The identities of the involved motorcyclist and driver are withheld pending the ongoing investigation.
During the investigation, Route 16 was shut down in both directions for approximately two and a half hours.
Troopers were assisted on the scene by members of the Gorham Fire Department, Gorham Police Department, Jackson Police Department, Bartlett Police Department, and State Troopers assigned to the Troop E barracks.
All aspects of the crash remain under investigation.
