CAMBRIDGE — Cambridge Police Department officers arrested a suspect Tuesday in connection with a stabbing that occurred near Cambridge Hospital last week.
Michael Dias, 35, who is unhoused with a last known address in Lawrence, was located on the Cambridge-Somerville line and taken into custody without incident.
The arrest stems from a July 11 incident when officers responded to Cambridge Street near the hospital at approximately 12 p.m. following reports of a stabbing.
Police said the victim was stabbed in the arm following a verbal confrontation.
The victim was transported to the hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
Detectives identified Dias as a suspect in the case after a four-day investigation.
Dias will be arraigned in Cambridge District Court on charges of assault to murder and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.
