OGDEN — A man was arrested for driving while intoxicated Saturday night after police found him pushing his damaged Honda down a road following a single-vehicle crash.
Officer Ortiz Speed responded to the scene at about 8 p.m. July 5 after receiving reports of a male pushing an older Honda that appeared to have been in an accident with deployed airbags.
Upon arrival, Speed detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from the driver.
The man was taken into custody for DWI without incident after failing standard field sobriety tests.
Police said the man’s blood alcohol content measured .29%, nearly four times the legal limit of .08%.
Following an investigation, officers determined the accident occurred on Brockport-Spencerport Road, where the man went off-road and struck a small pine tree before fleeing the scene.
No one was injured in the accident, including the driver, according to the Town of Ogden Police Department.
The man was released on an appearance ticket returnable to the Town of Ogden Court at a later date.
