NORTHUMBERLAND — State Police responded to a fatal crash on West River Road shortly after 6:30 a.m. Wednesday.
A 2017 Ford Fusion, driven by James Z. Morgan, 29, of Hudson Falls, struck the rear of a 2000 Jeep Cherokee.
Morgan’s vehicle left the roadway and hit a tree following the collision.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Jeep’s driver, Erik M. Teresko, 34, of Schuylerville, N.Y., and a passenger were unharmed.
Police said Morgan was traveling at a high rate of speed at the time of the crash.
The investigation remains ongoing.
