Teen stabbed on Middletown street, suspect arrested

MIDDLETOWN — A 15-year-old boy was stabbed in the abdomen on High Street on June 26 at approximately 8:44 p.m., according to police.

Officers were dispatched to an address on Grand Street for the report of a stabbing.

The victim was transported to Connecticut Children’s Medical Center for non-life threatening injuries and is listed in stable condition.

During the preliminary investigation, officers determined the assault occurred in the general area of High Street and Grand Street.

A short time later, officers located a 16-year-old male suspect and established probable cause to arrest him for the assault.

The juvenile was taken into custody and charged with Assault 2nd Degree and Breach of Peace 2nd Degree.

Police determined the assault was an isolated incident and there is no threat to public safety.

The case is currently being investigated by the Middletown Police Major Investigations Unit.
