Colonie man arrested on child exploitation charges

LATHAM — State Police arrested a 26-year-old Colonie man June 19 on charges related to child sexual exploitation.

Erik S. Ingram was charged with promoting a sexual performance by a child, a class D felony, and possessing a sexual performance by a child, a class E felony.

The arrest was made by State Police with assistance from the Troop G Computer Crimes Unit, the Internet Crimes Against Children Taskforce and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.

Ingram is accused of promoting and possessing images consistent with child sexual exploitation.

The investigation began after a cyber tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

Ingram was transported to State Police Latham where he was processed.

He was arraigned at Colonie Town Court and released under supervision of the Albany County Probation Department.
