SHANDAKEN — A 45-year-old Phoenicia man was arrested May 30 on felony and misdemeanor charges following a traffic stop on State Route 28.
Members of the Town of Shandaken Police conducted the traffic stop at approximately 9:40 p.m.
Following an investigation, police determined the driver was intoxicated by alcohol.
The man was charged with the felony of aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle in the first degree.
He also faces misdemeanor charges of driving while intoxicated with a blood alcohol content above 0.08% and suspended motor vehicle registration.
Police said his blood alcohol content was 0.17%.
The man was additionally cited for uninspected motor vehicle.
He was released on an appearance ticket returnable to Shandaken Justice Court at a later date.
