Oswego police arrest 2 in targeted interdiction detail

OSWEGO — Members of the Oswego Police Department conducted a targeted interdiction detail throughout the city last week.

The proactive efforts focused on enhancing public safety by identifying criminal activity and deterring dangerous behavior in the community.

Officers assigned to the detail conducted multiple traffic stops resulting in citations and made two separate arrests.

Justin L. Scoville, 40, of Oswego, was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the 7th degree, a Class A misdemeanor, and criminal possession of a weapon in the 3rd degree, a Class D felony.

Aleicia M. Stancliffe, 38, of Oswego, was charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs, an unclassified misdemeanor.

The initiative is part of the department’s ongoing commitment to proactive, community-focused policing.
