Himrod man arrested on charges of threatening county building, employees

HIMROD — A 26-year-old Himrod man was arrested Friday on charges of threatening to burn down the Yates County Office Building and physically harm county employees.

Jayden H. Heitmann was charged with one count of making a threat of mass harm, a misdemeanor, and two counts of harassment in the second degree, violations, according to the Yates County Sheriff’s Office.

The arrest followed an investigation into the incident at 2954 Himrod Road.

Heitmann was processed at the Yates County Jail and released to answer the charges in the Town of Milo at a later date.

Deputies P. Skelly, Investigator C. Emerson and Investigator P. Breuer responded to the scene.

The Yates County Department of Social Services also was involved in the case.
