Oneida police seek man wanted on grand larceny, bad check charges

ONEIDA — Police are seeking a 54-year-old man wanted on felony grand larceny and bad check charges stemming from a February incident.

John C. Degoski, born Feb. 23, 1971, is wanted on an arrest warrant issued by Oneida City Court for grand larceny in the fourth degree, a class E felony, and issuing a bad check, a class B misdemeanor.

The charges stem from an alleged incident in February in which Degoski issued a bad check exceeding $2,600 to a local business, according to the Oneida City Police Department.

Police said other similar incidents involving Degoski remain under active investigation.

Degoski is described as a white male, 5 feet 11 inches tall, with blue eyes and dark blond hair.

His last known location was Frankfort, though police said he is known to frequent various areas throughout the Mohawk Valley.
