TAGHKANIC — A Hudson man was arrested May 30 after state police found large quantities of illegal drugs during a traffic stop on the Taconic State Parkway.
Kareem J. Blocker, 48, was pulled over at approximately 3:19 p.m. while driving a 2011 Ford Fiesta northbound for Vehicle and Traffic Law violations, according to New York State Police Troop K Community Stabilization Unit.
During the interview, Blocker attempted to dispose of a large quantity of narcotics, police said.
A probable cause search of the vehicle led to the recovery of approximately 146.4 grams of crack cocaine, 32.9 grams of methamphetamine, 11.5 grams of Alprazolam pills, and digital scales.
Blocker was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 2nd Degree, an A-II felony.
He also faces two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd Degree with intent to sell, both B felonies.
Additional charges include Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 4th Degree, a C felony, and Tampering with Physical Evidence, an E felony.
Blocker was also charged with several misdemeanors: Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th Degree, Resisting Arrest, Obstruction of Governmental Administration in the 2nd Degree, and Criminal Use of Drug Paraphernalia in the 2nd Degree.
He was arraigned May 31 in the Town of Claverack Court and remanded to the Columbia County Jail without bail.
