SARATOGA COUNTY — The Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office responded to a burglary call Sunday at 11:06 a.m. at 184 state Route 9P in the town of Stillwater.
Following an investigation, deputies arrested Kristal L. Wescott, 37, of Malta, on a charge of criminal contempt in the first degree, a class E felony.
Wescott is accused of violating an order of protection that prohibited her from being near the protected person’s residence.
The charge was elevated to a felony because Wescott has a previous criminal contempt conviction within the past five years.
She was arraigned before Judge Ellwood A. Sloat Jr. in Malta Town Court.
She was released on her own recognizance pending further proceedings in Stillwater Town Court.
