GREECE — The Greece Police Department arrested three suspects Sunday evening after license plate reader technology alerted officers to a stolen vehicle at a local gas station.
Officers responded to a Speedway at 3860 W Ridge Road around 7:59 p.m. on May 18 after the department’s License Plate Reader system flagged a white 2025 Kia Sorento that had been reported stolen to the Rochester Police Department.
The vehicle, valued at $40,000, was found parked at a gas pump with two suspects inside.
Jason E. Field, 51, and Nicole M. Stephan, 36, were taken into custody without incident at the vehicle.
A third suspect, Joshua L. Buzard, 37, was spotted exiting the Speedway store and fled on foot.
Officers established a perimeter and, with assistance from additional Greece patrol units, the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office and New York State Police, apprehended Buzard on Ridgemont Drive.
During the investigation, officers discovered cocaine in Field’s possession.
All three suspects were charged with Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 3rd and Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle 3rd, with Field facing an additional charge of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th.
The suspects were transported to the Monroe County Jail pending arraignment in CAP Court.
