NEWPORT — After a five-year hiatus due to the pandemic, the Orleans Essex VNA and Hospice’s (OEVNA) board of directors met with agency staff and volunteers at the Eastside Restaurant to recognize milestone years of service (2020-2024) with the theme of “Showering you with Appreciation.”
The program began with a welcome by Executive Director Lyne B. Limoges, a special message from Robert Lewis, board of directors president, and a blessing for health care workers by Chaplain Mickey Richards. Limoges thanked the board of directors, staff, and volunteers for their hard work and commitment towards home health care provided to patients in their homes in the communities served.
Attendees received umbrellas with the OEVNA logo and other gifts, along with service award certificates for five to 35 years of service.
Five-year service awards were presented to 15 recipients, including board member James Johnson, several physical therapists, personal care assistants, and office staff. Ten-year service recognition went to nine recipients, including board members Robert Starr, Casey Rowell, and Rita Nye, as well as Executive Director Lyne Limoges.
Fifteen-year service awards were presented to board members Michael Marcotte, Wanda Boomer and Robert Lewis, along with several staff members and volunteers. Twenty-year service awards went to Jennifer LaPoint, a registered nurse, and Tina Willey, a physical therapist assistant.
Sharon Porter, a registered nurse, and Christopher Nicotera, a volunteer, received 25-year service awards. Thirty-year service recognition was presented to Laureen Griggs, a registered nurse, and Marcia Driscoll, a volunteer.
The final award was presented to Miriam LeBlanc for 35 years of service as a volunteer.
Now in its fifty-fifth year, Orleans Essex VNA and Hospice continues to provide home health services including nursing, rehabilitation, social work, personal care, homemaking, hospice, and wellness programs in 18 communities in Orleans County and six in northern Essex County.
