CONKLIN — Four individuals, including two juveniles, face felony charges after allegedly breaking into a local barbecue restaurant and stealing ice cream and soda, according to the Broome County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded to the Big Dipper BBQ 2 restaurant on Conklin Road at approximately 8:04 a.m. on April 19 after an owner reported finding evidence of a break-in.

The owner discovered a window air-conditioning unit had been broken and moved, with ice cream left on the floor of the establishment.

Security footage from 12:52 a.m. that morning showed four individuals breaking into the business, causing several thousand dollars in damage to the door and air conditioning unit.

The suspects allegedly stole several tubs of ice cream and bottles of soda, and left a chest freezer open, resulting in the loss of twenty-two 5-gallon tubs of ice cream due to possible contamination.

Tracy L. Bryce, 20, and Jordan C. Wilson, 20, both of Conklin, were each charged with criminal mischief in the second degree and burglary in the third degree, both Class D felonies.

Two juveniles were each charged with one count of burglary in the third degree, a Class D felony.

Bryce and Wilson were processed at the Broome County Sheriff’s Office and arraigned at Central Arraignment Part, while the juveniles were processed and arraigned separately before being released to their families.
