BRANCHPORT — A 71-year-old motorcyclist was airlifted to Strong Hospital following a collision with a car Tuesday afternoon in Yates County.
The crash occurred at approximately 1:39 p.m. at the intersection of State Route 54A and Aumick Road, according to the Yates County Sheriff’s Office.
Christopher Vanhouten, 71, of Branchport, who was operating the motorcycle, suffered leg and chest injuries in the crash.
Richard Miller, 71, of Bath, who was driving the car involved in the collision, was uninjured.
Yates County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the scene along with Branchport Fire Department, Penn Yan Ambulance and Lifenet.
Vanhouten was transported by helicopter to Strong Hospital for treatment.
Charges are pending further investigation, according to authorities.
