SHERIDAN — A warrant check in the Town of Sheridan led to the arrest of a man on felony drug possession charges after deputies found methamphetamine and a rifle in his possession.
Jesse Erhard was observed exiting the basement of a residence at 2772 S. Roberts Rd. with a .22 rifle in his possession during a warrant check by Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Deputies.
Deputies knew Erhard was prohibited from possessing weapons and obtained a search warrant for the residence.
Narcotics Investigators from the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office, City of Dunkirk Police Department and City of Jamestown Police Department searched the residence.
The search yielded 55.4 grams of methamphetamine, scales and packaging material for the distribution of narcotics, and a .22 cal. rifle.
Erhard was charged with two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd, Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia 2nd and Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th.
He was transported to the Chautauqua County Jail where he was arraigned by the central arraignment program.
