Woman arrested for domestic assault, assaulting trooper in St. Johnsbury

ST. JOHNSBURY — A 24-year-old St. Johnsbury woman was arrested Sunday night after allegedly assaulting a household member and a state trooper.

Haley Liberty was taken into custody following a family disturbance at a residence on Main Street, according to Vermont State Police.

Troopers responded to the scene at 10:03 p.m. after receiving a report of the disturbance.

Investigation revealed that Liberty had assaulted a household member, causing pain, and the incident occurred in the presence of a child, authorities said.

While being taken into custody, Liberty allegedly assaulted a trooper.

She was lodged at Northeast Correctional Complex on $500 bail.

Liberty is scheduled to appear in Vermont Superior Court Criminal Division of Caledonia County on March 10 at 12:30 p.m. to face charges of domestic assault, offense committed in the presence of a child, and assault on a protected professional.
